First Look Fridays: Marina Klimasiewfski of Makeup Loves Me

Fellow beauty chicks, I'm so pleased to bring you this week's edition of First Look Fridays. Marina Klimasiewfski of makeup loves me is one of my all-time fave bloggers -- her posts are always so informational and well-written, and her spunky attitude carries through from her website to real life. Plus, her hair is just to die for -- and isn't her logo just the cutest thing ever? This graduate of Wesleyan University in Middleton, CT loves artisan cheese, chocolate, and -- of course -- makeup! Why did you decide to start your blog?
I started it about a year and a half ago. I have always been interested in makeup and it was around the time Lancome's Proenza Pink was being released. I was so excited about the new lippie, and I wanted to share that excitement with the world.

I love the name of your blog! How did you come up with it?
Haha, thanks. Basically it was the only one anyone said was any good on a loooong list of ideas I came up with.

Do you have a "day job?" What is it?
I just started a program at Columbia University to be an Adult Nurse Practitioner. I plan to work in Dermatology.

What have been some of the highlights of having your blog?
Ugh! So many things. I have made many friends who share my passion. I have gotten to try out tons of great products. And most recently, I had the chance to go to L.A. for a beauty blogging summit hosted by Total Beauty.

What are your top 5 beauty essentials?
These are in no particular order.
1) Prescriptives Custom Blend Tinted Moisturizer
2) Lancome Power Lash Mascara
3) Urban Decay Liquid Liner
M.A.C eyeliner in Raven (black with red pearl)
5) And of course, Cetaphil Face Wash

Playing with products must be fun -- but what are some things you do for fun outside of blogging?
Yoga!!! I love yoga. Also, I'm a huge foodie -- I love to cook and try new things. Other than that, I really love to watch Gossip Girl.

Are there any other beauty blogs you read regularly? What are some that you like and why?
Too many, oh gosh! Let's see.
1) I love all the regular features over here at The Beauty of Life.
2) Makeup Bag -- It's always upbeat.
3) The Daily Obsession -- Connie has a great voice.
4) Beauty Blogging Junkie -- Amber is hilar (her word) and she loves to cover hair, which is my least fave thing to cover.
5) Spoiled Pretty -- Keeps it fun.
6) Beauty Addict -- She has such a presence in blogging, even without magazine editor experience, which I really admire.
7) All Lacquered Up -- It's all about nail polish, and nail polish is so hot right now that it gets addictive. :)
