There is nothing -- I repeat, nothing -- worse than a perfume bottle that shatters. Whether it's all over your bathroom floor or among your luggage, the results can be disastrous. Not to mention it's quite unwieldy carrying around a large bottle for touchups throughout the day. So it's quite wonderful that the latest trend in fragrance is, well, a bit more miniscule than you might imagine. I'm talking about rollerball fragrances, of course! Conveniently sized to fit inside the tiniest clutch -- or even that seemingly inane coin pocket in your jeans -- they last for months and can be whipped out at a moment's notice. Check out the fragrances you'll definitely want to stock up on.
L L.A.M.B. Fragrance by Gwen Stefani Rollerball ($25 at sephora.com): A refreshingly exotic blend of floral and fruity notes like water hyacinth, white freesia, jasmine petals, fresh pear, orange blossom and violet leaves combine with musk and frangipani blossom in a gorgeous rainbow-hued bottle. I'd expect nothing less than perfection from the queen of glam rocker style!
Philosophy Falling in Love Perfume Oil ($25 at philosophy.com): I'm already a huge fan of this scent in the shower gel form -- so when I discovered the rollerball version, I was instantly sold. It's light, fresh and airy and just leaves me with the feeling of utter romance. (Quite apropos with the name!) Plus the gleaming silver top is just so utterly chic.
Bulgari Rose Essentielle To Go ($25 at sephora.com): I am definitely a floral fragrance lover at heart. Lilac, lily of the valley, honeysuckle, you name it, if it's got flowers in it, I have to have it. So this perfume, with its blend of blackberry, violet, mimosa and jasmine surrounding the heart of it all -- the rose -- is just heavenly. And the glistening pink crystal stopper adds a gorgeously stylish finishing touch.
Narciso Rodriguez "For Her" Purse Perfume ($62 at nordstrom.com): Yes, this price is exorbitantly expensive. But you know what? For this fragrance, it's totally worth it. Notes of honey flower, radiant amber and tactile woody are so elegant and sophisticated, and I find myself wanting to pull out the rollerball over and over throughout the day. And hey, at least it's cheaper than any of Narciso's way out of my price range clothing!
Stila Jade Blossom Roll-On Fragrance ($15 at stilacosmetics.com): Green tea. Cucumber. Lemon verbena. What a zesty combination! And it doesn't disappoint, whether you're going for the full-size version or carting around the rollerball. I choose the latter, which means I can dab on the intriguingly fresh scent whenever I need a little refresher!
