Trend-Filled Thursdays: Blue Eyeshadow

Fall, schmall. Who cares if temperatures are dropping? The new trend on everyone's radar is blue eyeshadow. There's nothing better than combating the cold with fun, springy and summery looks. And blue shadow is definitely showing up on eyes from tons of celebrities like Kate Hudson and Estelle. And you know style setter Rihanna is all over the trend! And whether you want to go for a smokier look, like our beloved Rihanna did, or for a brighter shade like turquoise, there's one out there for you. So read on, because you won't want to miss the blue shadows it's absolutely imperative to have on your eyes this season.

Urban Decay Metallic Glitter Eyeshadow in Kiddie Pool ($16 at urbandecay.com): It's totally bright and intense. We're talking as turquoise as it gets! I'm totally loving the iridescence brought out by the glitter in the formula.

NARS Crelido Cream Shadow ($22 at beauty.com): The creamy texture is unbelievable -- it translates perfectly from shadow to liner. And it's absolutely perfect for recreating Kate Hudson's look -- how much do you want to line your bottom lash line with this baby?

LORAC Sparkle Pencil Eye Shadow/Liner in Blue Topaz ($16 at loraccosmetics.com): Wait right there. A pencil that doubles as an eyeshadow? It sounds too good to be true ... but I promise, it really works! And the sparkle is just to die.

Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Metal Orchestra ($34 at sephora.com): Blues and greys together? Totally the most amazing combination of colors. And this palette has them all -- eight sparkly, glittery, glimmery shadows in the blue and grey family that meld together to create a ton of really gorgeous, wearable looks.

DuWop Blue Eyes ($32 at duwop.com): Why pick only one eyeshadow when you can have five? And this palette definitely runs the entire gamut of the color blue. Light? Got it. Dark? got that too. And the best part is, you can use them as shadows or liners to really make your eyes pop with DuWop!

  1. I wish I could pull off blue shadow. It always looks so pretty in the compact but sadly not on me.
