Beauty Watch: Jennifer Beals at Showtime's Winter Television Critics Association Party

Off-the-shoulder sweatshirt and welding career? Totally in the past for Flashdance starlet Jennifer Beals. Because at Showtime's Winter Television Critics Association Party in Hollywood on January 14, she looked nothing short of glamorous. While I'm normally not a fan of matching your eyeshadow exactly to your outfit, her teal shadow just looked gorgeous against her teal silk top. And paired with an orangey coral lip, contoured cheeks and a subtly messy updo, the look was all grown up.

Learn how to recreate Jennifer's look after the jump.

COMPLEXION:
Jennifer's skin is glowy and dewy with just a bit of contouring at the cheeks. Start with a bronzer like Too Faced Tanning Bed for the Face ($21.50 at toofaced.com). It's oil-free and super lightweight, so it won't streak or run even if you're on the red carpet!

A coral blush swept across the apples of your cheeks and up toward the cheekbones will give you that pretty glow seen on Jennifer. Try NARS Powder Blush Cheek Color in Taj Mahal ($25 at narscosmetics.com).

EYES:
Very subtle eyeliner set against bold eyeshadow is the best way to make your eyes pop without seeming too over dramatic. Start by lining your eyes with a black pencil like the Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil in Pointe Noir ($22 at suedevittstudio.com). Line just the center of the upper and lower lashlines and then use the smudger on the other end to make the line less defined.

Now for the piece de resistance of the whole look. You want a bright teal eyeshadow that's powder but goes on looking almost like a cream. Try Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow in Electric ($16 at urbandecay.com). Sweep the color just onto your lids, stopping right at the crease. You don't want it bleeding up into your browbone -- the line should be very clean, so there's just a tiny pop of color that can be seen when your eyes are open.

Finish with a single coat of mascara to define your lashes. Fresh Supernova Mascara ($25 at fresh.com) will thicken and curl them without clumping. Swipe it just on your top lashes and then run through them with an eyelash comb for a bit more definition.

LIPS:
Thank you to Jennifer Beals for doing a different take on the recent coral lip trend! Her orangeish peach lipgloss looks gorgeous with the teal shadow. Get the look with a lipgloss like ModelCo Glass Ultra Lip Gloss in Watermelon ($18 at modelco.com.au), which will make your lips look amazingly juicy and glossy.
