Every time I talk to her, I find out something new -- especially when it comes to eyeliner! Read on to discover her favorite summer scent, the eyeliner she can't live without and so much more.
Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
I have lived in NYC for the past four years, and it feels like home. I love everything about the convenience and pace of life here. I'm a nurse -- just got my RN license a couple weeks ago! I went to Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT for my undergrad and Columbia for my Nursing Degree.
How did you first become interested in beauty?
Birth? I've loved all things makeup and beauty for as long as I can remember. I do remember that the first time I had my toenails painted was when I was 5. My cousin Heather painted them bright 80s red and I left it on for months until all of it had chipped off of its own accord.
Why did you decide to start your blog?
So my friends and family wouldn't have to hear me talk as much about new lipsticks. I was starting to notice that they didn't really like that about two and a half years ago, then began blogging.
I love the name of your blog! How did you come up with it?
No idea -- do you know what projection is? In psychology, it's when you think that someone feels a certain way about you because that is actually how you feel about them ... So I think it's a form of projection. Since I love makeup it must love me, right?
What have been some of the highlights of having your blog?
1) Going to LA last year for the Total Beauty Conference.
2) Every fashion week.
3) Meeting other people who think a new mascara coming out is worth talking for over a half hour about.
What are your top 5 beauty essentials?
3) Prescriptives Custom Blend Tinted Moisturizer.4) Bright blush. Three Custom Color Specialists have some great ones.
5) Eye cream. Right now I'm into Advocate's version.
What brands can you simply not live without?
1) NARS! I love, love, love them.
2) Urban Decay -- best eyeliners.
3) Prescriptives -- custom blending is where it's at.
