The Beauty of Life Exclusive! Hairstylist Ted Gibson’s Tips for Creating Ashley Greene’s Maxim Cover Party Look

Well, fellow beauty chicks, do I ever have a treat for you! The wonderfully fabulous Ted Gibson granted me an exclusive interview about the look he created for Ashley Greene at the November 24 party celebrating her Maxim cover. Here's the scoop on how Ted created the look.

"We thought about it being sexy -- but we didn't want it to be too overtly sexy," Ted told me. "Sexy enough, almost bedhead -- but controlled bedhead." He started with freshly shampooed hair ("Ashley uses Clarity Color Shampoo and Conditioner," he confided to me). Ted then used Build It Blow Drying Agent at the roots before backcombing at the scalp to create volume. He used a medium-sized round brush and finished the look with Beautiful Hold Hairspray.

Ted told me that he and Ashley came up with the idea for this look together. "What's cool about this particular look is that I cut her hair a few days before that -- it was kind of extra long and I brought it right below her shoulders," Ted said. The final verdict: smooth, sleek hair with just enough volume to give it a sexy finish.

All products used are from the Ted Gibson line.
