Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
I am from Mississippi, I attended Baker College for Information Technology and Securities. I’m a mother of five children and I work from home!
How did you first become interested in beauty, and what led you to create your own blog?
I became interested in beauty back in 2007 when I found makeuptalk.com. I knew nothing about makeup, but the ladies on that forum were so warm and inviting -- they really got me comfortable with makeup. I eventually decided to expand my horizons by getting a part-time gig as a makeup counter salesperson and eventually buying a domain and starting a blog! I enjoy answering questions and helping women find products that are fit for them.
I love the name of your blog! How did you come up with it?
Glitter.Gloss.Garbage was supposed to be a rating system, but it was not logical, so I dumped the rating system and kept the title. It really has no deep meaning behind it. That sucks. (Editor's note: I disagree. :) The name is great!)
What are your top 5 favorite beauty products?
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Perfector SPF 30
Milani Color Statement Lipstick
Organic Bath Co. Enhance Face Oil
NARS Blush. Seriously, all of them.
eos Smooth Lip Balm Spheres
What are your top 3 beauty tips?
1) Ditch the white eyeliner on your waterline and try a fleshy tone.
2) Bold lip colors are really for everyone, but exfoliate your lips first with a little sugar and olive oil.
3) Oil cleansing is a lifesaver. You just have to find the right oil for you!
Being a blogger must be fun, but what do you do in your spare time?
My favorite thing in the whole wide world is to fish. Fun fact, I’m allergic to it, but I love just relaxing on the water and catching them. I also enjoy reading and grilling ... and playing Candy Crush.
In addition to your blog, how can The Beauty of Life readers find you on social media?
You can find me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
