The main thing to note when doing a manicure like this is ... ANYTHING GOES! You can do ombre, you can do varying shades of the same color, you can choose five colors from the same brand, you can pick five coordinating colors, the list goes on (and on, and on...). I went for the last version, because I love to play around with my polish any way possible!

The only rules I set forth for this manicure were:
1) I wanted the five shades to play well together.
2) I wanted them all to be vibrant.
3) I wanted to use a variety of brands.

And, voila! The manicure you see here came to be. I used the following shades:
Thumb: Essie Mint Candy Apple
Index Finger: Deborah Lippmann Can't Stop The Feeling!
Middle Finger: OPI Alpaca My Bags
Ring Finger: Deborah Lippmann Wild Orchid
Pinky Finger: Essie Bikini So Teeny

These five colors all actually jumped out at me pretty immediately, and the moment I painted my nails with them, I fell in love with the result! This type of manicure is an easy way to have fun with your summer nail look -- and now that I've done it once, I'm hooked!
