When I was creating this manicure, I knew I wanted to use the browns in my stash, because I've been trying to use some of my lesser worn colors, and some of these haven't seen the light of day in a LONG time. I also knew that I wanted to incorporate one glittery nail to break up what could feel kind of monotonous or gloomy.
After swatching all of my various browns, I realized that I have a LOT of dupes. Essie has definitely created multiple polishes over the years that are exactly the same! This made me want to do a comparison post for you of the different similar Essie shades, so stay tuned for that.

But I digress. I swatched all of my browns, and finally picked the five I would use to create this manicure. I wanted them to come from different years and different collections so the love would be spread out a bit even across one brand. I finally decided on the following five shades:
Thumb: Essie Jazz
This is such an amazing nude! I can't believe I didn't even realize I had this color in my stash.
Index Finger: Essie Beyond Cozy
MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE ESSIE POLISH. This is just the absolute best gold glitter! It was originally part of the Leading Lady Collection in 2012. My bottle is so old that the polish has definitely thickened over the years and it's pretty difficult to use, to be honest. But I was determined to include it in this manicure, so I made it work!
Middle Finger: Essie Chinchilly
Good lord, what an amazing greige. Chinchilly was originally released as part of the Cuddle With Color Collection in 2009, and it became an immediate hit -- because, well, LOOK AT IT. It's just that perfect grey/taupe/lavender hybrid. I love this color so much and have ever since it came out!
Ring Finger: Essie Hot Coco
Honestly, I totally forgot about this polish, and now I feel bad -- because it's SUCH A GOOD BROWN. Hot Coco was originally released in the Winter 2010 Collection. It's definitely got some Essie dupes, so you'll see those coming up in another post. But I love the creamy darkness of this shade!
Pinky Finger: Essie Partner In Crime
This is a polish I actually didn't even know I owned ... but I went through my stash and there it was! Partner in Crime was originally released as part of the Dress to Kilt Collection in 2014. This is such an amazing dark brown! It's rich, creamy and opaque in just one coat. In a word, it's perfection.

This is definitely one of those manicures that turned out exactly how I hoped it would! I love the five shades together, and I love the fall vibes they bring out. I'm thrilled with it, to be honest!
