“Honey! Ah, sugar, sugar! You are my candy girl, and you got me wanting you.” - Sugar, Sugar by The Archies

Over the weekend, I went to Sugar Rush with my gal Erin. We frolicked through scenes of lollipops 🍭 unicorns 🦄 popcorn 🍿 and more — and it felt like I was in a real life Candyland! 🍬

Popping out to say hello from behind giant popcorn! (Too bad this popcorn wasn't real, I totally would have dived right in!)

This may not really have anything to do with candy, but I still loved this little JUMP area!

This immersive, open-air experience featured over 40,000 square feet of candy-themed installations — yes, FORTY THOUSAND!! According to my Health app, we walked over a mile. It was really fun to finally go to a popup again after so long — I hadn't been to one since before quarantine! It was so amazing to just do something that felt NORMAL.

I was really impressed by the level of detail paid to each of the installations, and to the safety measures as well! There were tons of hand washing stations, signs to keep your mask on and stay 6 feet apart (everyone complied with these rules), they took our temperatures before we went in, and the whole experience was outside.

And the best part? We each got a huge bag of candy on our way out. It felt like Halloween — especially because Erin got a ton of Smarties in her bag and traded me some for Lemonheads!

I decided to theme my outfit for the day around — what else — candy, of course! What better time to wear a candy hearts printed mask and headband, and earrings shaped like gumball machines?! I really just had so much fun doing something I used to do all the time before Covid.
