It's rare that I come across an entire nail collection that makes me fall completely, madly, desperately in love. (The last one that comes to mind is the OPI France Collection). But when I discovered the butter LONDON Fall Collection, all bets were off. I love a rich, sparkly polish, and this collection delivers that in spades. See all the polishes after the jump.
All Hail The Queen
butter LONDON founder Nonie Creme created this polish in honor of the late Alexander McQueen. The taupe base is PACKED with multicolored, almost holographic shimmer and sparkle -- this polish is a true attention grabber, as McQueen's collections certainly were. One coat is fairly sheer, so I applied two to give it a more opacity.
Bumster
Also named for Alexander McQueen -- specifically, the extremely low-slung and shocking "Bumster" trousers he designed in 1996. The mustard-yellow creme is honestly my least favorite from the collection only because it's not right for my skin tone. But two coats applied very evenly with no streaking or brush marks left behind.
Marrow
This color was hand-mixed for the designers of Vena Cava last season -- and, true to their quirky form, they named it after the dark purple, rusty center of a bone. I love this color -- the rich violet base is shot through with silver shimmer. This is definitely going to be my next pedicure shade.
Victoriana
If perfection existed in a nail polish shade, Victoriana would be it. Nonie was inspired by the Victorian era when creating this polish -- according to her website, things like corsets, top hats and even Syphilis were the inspirations behind this silvery teal. The finish is actually a cross between matte and jelly, which is really interesting -- definitely not one I've seen before -- and the shockingly vibrant hue is just traffic-stopping.
