Although I love nail art, it's rare that I actually have it done on my nails. I typically just go for bright, bold, solid manicures. I think it's because the pressure of choosing and creating an amazing design honestly stresses me out a bit and then I feel creative blocks trying to come up with ideas. But this time, I had a very specific idea in mind that I wanted my nail artist to create, which made the process that much simpler.
I really wanted to create a design based on my love of polish. I had the idea to draw nail polish bottles on some of my nails and then accent them with glitter ombre and solid nails. Nail polish bottles in nail art? Very meta, I know. But I just had the vision and needed to go with it!

I settled on colors by Color Club, Zoya and NCLA to create this look. |
Frania also helped with manicure prep, buffing and smoothing my nails to absolute perfection, before turning me over to skilled nail artist Nikki Diamond to create the look. If a person could be my spirit animal, it would be Nikki. SHE. IS. FABULOUS. We had so much fun while she worked meticulously on this design, sharing our loves of nail polish and beauty and basically laughing and talking up a storm. I couldn't get over how painstaking the process to draw the bottles and create the glitter ombre was, but Nikki worked tirelessly and fearlessly to give me exactly the finished look that I wanted.

When all was said and done? I LOVE MY MANICURE SO MUCH. I am seriously obsessed with my nails and can't stop staring at them. And, even though we didn't use gel, it's lasted for a week with NO CHIPPING. That's a miracle in and of itself!
I can't wait to move to Los Angeles so I can make The House of Polish my regular nail salon. A manicure starts at $16 with extra costs for nail art. My manicure was $40. For more information about The House of Polish and to book an appointment, visit thehouseofpolish.com.
