The Painted Desert collection was inspired by the muted yet rich tones of the Sahara desert. I already brought you another gorgeous color from the collection, Love in the Dunes, but Desert Moon is another sure stunner.
Deborah Lippmann describes Desert Moon as a full coverage pebble grey, but I think you can see that it really leans more on the green than the grey side. It definitely depends on the light, but both in the bottle and on the nail it has more green undertones for me. It really does depend on the light, though.
Another shot of Deborah Lippmann Desert Moon in different light. You can definitely see that it leans more grey here. |
I found that one coat was enough for complete opaque coverage. However, I find that Deborah Lippmann polishes tend to show tipwear rather quickly, so I used two to be on the safe side.
This is definitely a color I'm adding to my arsenal. It's perfect for the cooling temperatures of fall -- which, of course, I'm not really experiencing as a new Angeleno, but I can pretend!
What's on your nails right now? Let me know in the comments!
Deborah Lippmann Desert Moon retails for $18 at beauty.com.
I'm beginning to really like the gray shades lately! Great for fall

ReplyDeleteGreat Fall shade! I can totally see that as a base for nail art!
ReplyDeleteI definitely see the green undertones, I really like it! I've never tried a DL polish, but I really want to!
ReplyDeleteI see a lot of green in that polish. I have a jacket it would look great with.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that shade!
ReplyDeletePretty on you! I have worn this shade a lot so far! Especially once Fall hit
ReplyDeleteI like the green tone this has (but it's pretty hard to find a grey I don't like!)
ReplyDeleteThis grey-green is a great polish for Fall. I need to try out my first Deborah Lippmann polish soon.
ReplyDeleteI like this shade, very mature but ain't boring
ReplyDeleteWow - I love when a shade like this is opaque in one to two coats. This is a stunning shade and definitely something I think would look fabulous with a white lace stamp :D
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous shade! So creamy.
ReplyDeleteThis and Love in the Dunes were my faves from the summer collection. Definitely a unique take on summer color.
