Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to go to the spa. It's really no secret at this point. So when I had the opportunity to visit Spa Lé La, you know I jumped.

Spa Lé La is a mini oasis tucked into a busy street in Studio City. And it's designed with YOU in mind. And by you, I mean people both single and with children in tow! The spa is unique in that it offers childcare while you receive your spa treatments -- there's a playroom off the reception area where your kids can enjoy themselves while you simultaneously do the same. And, while I don't have kids, I definitely appreciate a spa who understands that everyone needs a little R&R.

For me, though, I went to Spa Lé La with one goal in mind -- to RELAX. While I absolutely love my job, it takes a toll on me mentally and creatively, and I like to unwind and recharge whenever I possibly can. Enter this simply designed yet totally chic space, which offers everything you can possibly imagine in the way of treatments designed to make you feel 100 percent.

I seriously wanted to take home all of the products here. I love the aesthetic!

After being given my own basket to carry my essentials and a super fluffy robe, I changed in my personal changing room and experienced two mini treatments. They both left me feeling so refreshed and rejuvenated, it was like I left as a whole new human being. I got the chance to enjoy the following:

Infrared Sauna Treatment ($40 for 25 minutes): Spa Lé La has an infrared sauna that's made for one person to sit in and soak up the benefits. This little wooden box doesn't make you feel claustrophobic at all, though -- it's really just a place to sit, relax and soak up the benefits of infrared sauna (detoxification, anti aging, pain relief, relaxation, even weight loss are all benefits of sitting in an infrared sauna). I'm not always a steam room/sauna kind of gal, but I have to say I really enjoyed my time in here. (Spa Lé La gives you a timer to take into the sauna so you know how long you have left to bake.) I did sweat a bit, but not nearly as much as I have in other saunas and steam rooms -- more like a thin layer of dew than an all-out pouring down my body sweat kind of experience. And I really did feel refreshed walking out!

Mini Facial ($80 for 30 minutes): The mini facial includes everything you would expect -- cleansing, exfoliation, massage, mask. There are no extractions with the mini facial, but to be honest, that was okay. Although I love having all my pores cleansed that deeply, it was kind of nice to just lay on the table and have someone massage and treat my face kindly and gently for 30 minutes! And, even without the extractions, I definitely saw and felt a difference in my skin tone and texture. I went in with pretty dehydrated skin and walked out with a clear, glowing, radiant complexion free of dryness. Pretty miraculous for only 30 minutes!

Spa Lé La is definitely a must visit when you're in the Los Angeles area. The prices are reasonable, the staff is extremely pleasant and capable and it's a place that will definitely leave you feeling happy and refreshed. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and honestly can't wait to go back!

  3. Sounds wonderful and relaxing. So many places here are dumpy but affordable or beautiful and expensive. This place combines the beauty and affordable.

  4. It sounds fantastic! I've never heard of an "infrared" sauna before. What's the difference between that and a regular sauna with rocks? Interesting! I need a facial badly. Glad you had fun

  6. Oh, I bet this was heavenly!! I've never had time at a spa before. No facials or saunas...I did have one massage when I was pregnant and the pressure was just too much and I couldn't stand it any more.

  7. Oh how I miss living in South Florida near gorgeous spas. There's a definite lack of that here in NC lol

  9. I've never visited a Spa in my entire life, but i did receive a mini facial once as part of a event that i was invited to come. Just a pity that it's so expensive depending on where you are located.
