It's October 16 ... also known as my
LA-iversary! Today marks 3 years since I packed up my car with shoes, clothes and nail polish (you know, the essentials), drove across the country and arrived in LA. Here are the top 5 things I’ve learned and loved in the past 1,095 days.
1) I will take any and every opportunity to find and pose in front of a
fun, colorful wall. Luckily there are a million of them here!
|
When you're posing at one of the @jgoldcrown Love walls (like this one on Melrose), you make the heart symbol with your hands. It's just what you do. |
2) I love going to
Disneyland more than I ever thought possible. Having an annual pass these past few years has given me the opportunity to explore the parks for all they have to offer, make new friends and, most importantly, have FUN!
|
I go to Disneyland at least a few times a month -- and, as you might expect, it's always the happiest place on earth! There's just nothing like walking toward Sleeping Beauty's Castle on a beautiful sunny day. |
3) If there’s an experience popup, I’m going to it.
@museumoficecream,
@museum_of_illusion and
@savedbythemax are just a few of the standouts, not just for the picture opportunities (which were, of course, plentiful), but for the fun times I had at all three. I even visited Museum of Ice Cream and Saved by the Max twice each!
|
Is that a banana in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? Taken at the Museum of Ice Cream, of course! |
|
This bubble wall at the Museum of Illusions was definitely my favorite! |
|
Hey, hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?!? Oh, it's just me totally geeking out at the Saved by the Max popup! |
4) Going to
the beach always restores, rejuvenates and refreshes my soul. I am truly a water baby at heart.
|
Walking along Zuma Beach in Malibu. |
5) I am
HAPPY. The photos I post are not an illusion - they are a true depiction of how I feel every single day living here. No matter what trials and tribulations may come my way, I know moving to LA was, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the best decision I ever could have made for my mind, body and soul.

|
Don't mind me -- I'm just picking out a new table and chairs! Under the Table by Robert Therrien is one of my favorite pieces of art -- you can find it at The Broad in Downtown LA. |
|
No matter how long I live in LA, I'll always love Rodeo Drive -- tourists and all! |
LA, you have my whole heart. I can’t wait to see what adventures you still have in store for me.
Happy LAnniversary! 3 years already, wow. So glad it suits you. I've been ages since I've been to LA. I miss it!
