What does that mean, you may ask? Well, if you can't tell from the photo above, I decided to paint every nail with a different Essie nail polish. I had four goals for this manicure:
1) Give it a springy vibe.
2) Use only Essie colors.
3) Make sure all of the colors complemented each other well.
4) Have FUN! (Duh, I already said I like to have fun with my nails. I just wanted to make sure you were paying attention.)
Luckily, I have about 150 Essie nail polishes at the ready within my collection, so I knew it wouldn't be too difficult to "arm" myself with the five perfect shades. (See what I did there?) I didn't want to go for a straight up rainbow, but colors that felt more spring -- and I also wanted to try and use some colors in my collection that haven't seen the light of day in awhile.
Very quickly, I settled on these five shades:
Thumb: Neo Whimsical
Index Finger: Mint Candy Apple
Middle Finger: Bikini So Teeny
Ring Finger: DJ Play That Song
Pinky Finger: All Access Pass
With the exception of All Access Pass, the other four have been in my rotation quite a bit in the past. I received this color from a friend not too long ago, and I actually forgot I owned it until I started digging through my collection! But when it comes to the other four, they've been in my tried and true favorites for a LONG time -- although, truth be told, I hadn't used them in so long they really needed to be shaken up first! (And, yes, All Access Pass quickly made its way into that category after using it in this manicure!)
I have to say I really love how this manicure turned out. It looks exactly how I hoped it would! It's one of those manicures that makes me keep staring at my nails and smiling, so I think it did its job. Hello, spring!
What's on your nails right now? Let me know in the comments!
