#ManiMonday Meets The Self-Careantine Series (and a Little Disney Magic!): Olive & June Multicolored Manicure

I've been a major fan of Olive & June for quite some time. (Proof here.) It's the only nail salon I visit in LA — and I honestly can't wait to go again once quarantine is over. But the one thing I hadn't done yet? Bought any of Olive & June's gorgeous nail polishes!

While I've been on a spending hiatus since this all started — barring the necessities from the grocery store, Target and Amazon, of course — I decided new nail polish was, indeed, a necessity. So I loaded up my cart with five gorgeous shades — not too small a feat, since I basically wanted every single color — and waited anxiously for them to arrive. They did, I unloaded the beautiful shades one by one, and I got to painting! So here's my #ManiMonday Meets The Self Care-antine Series post, featuring a multicolored manicure with Olive & June polishes!

I really hope the multicolored manicure trend sticks around for a long time, if for no other reason than it really helps when I'm deciding what color to use in my latest manicure. Oh, five instead of one? Sign me up! I love when the only decision I have to make is which color to put on which nail — which, admittedly, can actually be a bit of a challenge!

I selected these five Olive & June colors when I was shopping because I didn't actually have these shades in my collection. I had similar ones for the pink, green and blue, to be sure, but not identical. And I actually didn't have yellow or white at all! I also just love the way these five colors look together -- they give off major spring vibes, and they definitely bring a smile to my face, which is extremely welcome right now. Here are the colors I bought and used for this manicure:

Thumb: Olive & June JM
Olive & June describes this as a pinky lavender, but I think it's a pretty standard carnation pink. In any case, it's a PERFECT pink! JM was named for the jeweler Jennifer Meyer.

Index Finger: Olive & June HD
HD was named for Haylie Duff. Shockingly, I never had a bright white polish in my collection before! I'm so excited to use this polish in different nail art (like polka dots and lines, the only art I can actually do) and both in multicolored manicures and on its own. This was a definite must have for my collection!

Middle Finger: Olive & June CNH
CNH was named for Christina Hooks, who was the first hand model Olive & June ever used. (Pretty cool!) They describe this shade as "the blue jeans of nail polishes" — and I definitely think that's accurate! This is such a perfectly rich, deep blue.

Ring Finger: Olive & June JLR
JLR was named for Jessie Randall of Loeffler and Randall. Olive & June describes this as "a sunny yellow to brighten your days." Completely accurate! That's exactly what came out of the bottle. This color makes me happy every time I look at it!

Pinky Finger: Olive & June KMC
KMC was named for Kristen Caissie, who founded Moon Canyon. KMC is a light pastel sage green — the perfect neutral! I'm definitely going to be wearing this polish A LOT.

I used two coats for each of these polishes, which yielded perfect opaque color. They all glide on easily, and the brush is a bit on the thicker side to cover the nail completely. I had no streaking or smudging issues with any of these colors!

I also decided to shoot this manicure holding my Rose Gold Minnie Ears, because even though I can't be at Disneyland right now, I can still keep a little of the magic at home with me! (Side note: I actually just finished a week-long fashion challenge on Instagram featuring my collection of Minnie ears. Check it out here!)

Olive & June nail polishes retail for $8 each at oliveandjune.com.

  1. Aw, the rose gold ears; that gives me some feelings. :) I haven't tried any of the Olive & June polishes yet ... and I'm trying to not buy any more cremes (though not succeeding all that well).
