Truth be told, I have pretty unmanageable hair. Left to its own devices, it's so coarse and thick I can barely get a brush through it. So I take every opportunity to treat my tresses to deep conditioning treatments, because without them, I don't think most people would want to be seen with me! My new favorites are from Antonio Prieto Salon and Salon AKS -- read on to find out why.
The Kerastase Oleo Slim Treatment at Antonio Prieto Salon:
On the day I went to Antonio Prieto, my hair was a MESS. It was pouring rain and super humid, so my strands were about three times their normal size. My stylist, the fabulous Bryan Zinno, prescribed the Oleo Slim treatment for my hair, which he said would smooth the cuticle and take out some of the weight. Was he ever right! Not only did my locks survive the horrible thunderstorm in sleek, shining fashion ... they continued to look amazing for the next FOUR DAYS. This even included traveling to Indiana and sleeping on a friend's couch for the weekend. Unbelievable! Kerastase treatments range from $35-$55. Nigelle Hair Treatment at Salon AKS:
What I find interesting about the Nigelle Hair Treatment is that it's completely customized for your hair type. There are three different versions -- for fine, normal or coarse hair -- and its restoring properties are perfect for color-treated or over-processed hair. Surprisingly, my stylist, Kimberly, thought the best for my hair type was normal. Throughout the three-step process, I wondered if my hair would actually look sleek and shiny ... but after blowout master Alena had her way with my tresses, WOW! I haven't seen my hair look this good in eons. The Nigelle Hair Treatment is $65. For more information, visit salonaks.com.
