My gal Jan-Marie Arteca has done it again! I continue to love the haircolor she does for me time and time again, and of course my past appointment with her was no exception. I asked for ombre hair color, and Jan-Marie delivered, in what I'm calling subtle ombre.
What I love about Jan-Marie is her ability to create gorgeous, natural color. Even though there is actually a LOT of blonde in my hair now, I don't look like I've dumped about a million bottles of Sun-In into my tresses and just hoped for the best. No, my hair looks 100 percent naturally red with tons of sunkissed highlights and bleached out ends.
I like that the color comes out more in the sunlight -- in natural light, it looks like it's just red. But when I loop up the ends to the crown, as seen above, WOW! You can really see the different in colors along the hair shaft. The color at the crown is almost burgundy, fading along the red and auburn spectrum and ending in rich honey blonde.
It's actually been a couple weeks since my appointment with Jan-Marie (I saw her over Memorial Day weekend), and I'm loving how the color has deepened and taken on a life of its own since then. This is definitely my favorite color from Jan-Marie yet -- I can't wait to see what she has in store next.
If you're in NYC, I urge you to discover the fabulousness that is Jan-Marie. You can find her at Jeff Chastain Parlour, and you can follow her on Twitter and Facebook!
