You know those nail polishes that have the power to put you in the best mood every time you look down at your hands? Well, Deborah Lippmann Ray Of Light is one of those colors.

This nail polish is doing so many things at the same time that it might feel like too much is going on. But, somehow, it all ends up working so well together that you can't help falling in love -- or, at least, I can't! The base color is a gorgeous dark navy that pulls a little more purple on me. That would be pretty enough, but then Deborah had to go and drop millions of red, green and yellow glitter flakies into it!

Closeup shot of the polish. Look at all of those glitter flakes!

While Deborah is calling this a holographic, I think it's much more like a jelly sandwich. The flakes look like they're dropped right into the middle of layers of jelly polish. I also think the copper flakes are much more visible than the other colors, although depending on the light, the green flakes make an appearance. (I notice them more in lower light.)

A lot of other bloggers had problems with the formula of this nail polish, but I found it to be very easy to work with. I definitely recommend using thin coats so it doesn't apply too thickly or goopily, but two thin coats yielded absolute perfection for me.

Deborah Lippmann Ray Of Light retails for $18 at beauty.com.
