Salon and Spa Directory: Blo

Over the weekend, I had the extreme pleasure of visiting Blo in Boston's South End. I've long been searching for a fabulous blowdry bar in Boston -- and, now that Blo is there, my prayers have been answered!

I love the vibe of the salon -- a combination of white, clear and vibrant pink really make a fun, youthful statement. Each station is large enough that you don't feel like you're on top of the client next to you, and everyone who works at the salon is just so friendly and welcoming.

Blo has a Signature Hair Menu that you can browse through to find the perfect hairstyle. Each one is accompanied by adorable illustrations like the one above! You can choose from the following styles:

Red Carpet: Smooth tresses with lots of body and gentle arcs toward the neckline.

Executive Sweet: A super flat, super straight blowout that includes a flat iron.

Hunt Club: The perfect ponytail.

High Society: A fun name for an updo!

Holly Would: A fun, flirty, super bouncy and curly blowout.

Sex, Hugs And Rock & Roll: Big, curly and ready for a night on the town.

Boho Braid: Blo's signature blowout, livened up with a fun braid.

I went for the Executive Sweet, because, let's face it -- I love super straight hair. My stylist, Brittany, was an absolute master from start to finish. She shampooed my locks, giving me a fantastic head massage in the process, and then expertly blew out and flat ironed my hair strand by strand. And it only took 35 minutes total! I couldn't believe how quickly she worked ... and how fabulous my hair looked when she was done. Here's the proof:
