First Look Fridays: Blogger Adina Zilberman of Krasey Beauty

Adina Zilberman, the lovely lady behind the blog Krasey Beauty, has long been one of my favorite bloggers and dear friends. She's an incredible person, extremely knowledgeable about beauty (especially Make Up For Ever -- you should SEE her collection of eyeshadows), and I love to see how motivated and dedicated she is to accomplishing her goals. Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
I was born and raised in the Bronx, where I practically spent my whole life, barring the 4 years I ventured out to Jersey for college (yay, Rutgers!), and my current residential status in Long Island. I'm a 27-year-old finance administrator/blogger/competitive bodybuilder/fitness junkie, who lives with her boyfriend and her adorable morkie pup named Moe.

How did you first become interested in beauty, and what led you to create your own blog?
It all began with a need to let off some creative steam back during my college pre-med days. I was online looking up a random makeup collection when I stumbled upon a makeup forum, where I quickly became known for my slightly wacky personality. It wasn't long before the site admins started asking me to report on events and trends on their behalf -- being that I live in NYC, which is a major fashion and beauty hub -- and about 6 months into doing that I just said why not start my own blog. And thus, Krasey Beauty was born.

I love the name of your blog! How did you come up with it?
Back in my forum days, I was known as krasevayadancer, with Krasevaya being the Russian word for beautiful. I happen to be Russian, so that definitely fit. When looking for a name for my site, I wanted something catchy and easy to remember, but something that was also true to my forum roots. Cut krasevaya, and you get krasey. Also, krasey sounds like crazy, so "krasey" about beauty fit well, too.

I know you've been focusing more on fitness recently. What made you decide to make the change?
Well, I was first bitten by the fitness bug a little over a year ago, and since then, fitness has become such a huge part of my life. I live it, breathe it, love it, and don't know where I would be without it.

Blogging must be fun, but what do you do in your spare time?
Like LMFAO said, "I work out". I am actually a member of Team Bombshell, a competitive bodybuilding team. As a competitor, I spend at least 2 hours in the gym every single day.
