Chanel's collection for Summer 2013,
L'Été Papillon de Chanel, is inspired by the dazzling colors of butterfly wings. The three nail polishes in the collection are, in a word, stunning. Read on for swatches and my take on the shades!
Azuré, to me, is the clear winner from this collection. I actually first saw this polish over a month ago during a visit to
Tenoverten, and I simply HAD to try it ... and became immediately obsessed. Azuré is a gorgeous deep teal with tons of metallic shimmer. Two coats yield even, beautiful color with no brushstrokes. This color is like nothing else in my collection and looks equally as beautiful on fingers as it does on toes.
Bel-Argus is a rich, deep metallic navy. While the dark hue is a bit unexpected for summer, that's what I love about it. Two coats, like Azuré, also yielded perfect color with no streaks or brushstrokes. I'm definitely impressed by the metallics in this collection, and this one is a fabulous hue to wear year-round.
Lilis is a bold, intense coral. The color is definitely pretty, and two coats create a creamy, opaque finish. I do like this color, but I think it's the least unique of the three, especially for summer. But if you're on the lookout for a pretty coral shade for tips and toes, this is a good one to try.
The three nail polishes from the Chanel L'Été Papillon de Chanel Summer 2013 Collection are limited edition. They are available for $27 each at
