By now you’ve heard of the CC cream craze. Should you trade in your favorite BB cream for the next newest thing in cosmetics? That depends on your skincare needs. BB creams address anti-aging concerns and provide a flawless, illuminating glow. I think of them as power-packed tinted moisturizers. CC creams, on the other hand, correct dark spots and fix skin tone problems on a cellular level so your skin actually improves over time. Personally, I prefer the hydration and coverage of BB creams, but since I’m on a quest to eliminate my acne scars, CC creams are my answer. Here are the top 3 CC creams I'm keeping in my makeup bag.
The "dark spot correcting" claim on the front of the bottle really is true! I used this for about a month and my most prominent acne scars faded almost completely. I found this formula a bit drying for my combination dry skin, but that was easily fixed by first applying a moisturizing toner. The semi-matte finish is great for an everyday look, especially for work.

I really like the high level of sun protection and I’m a huge fan of the pump bottle packaging. This CC cream has a beautiful powdery finish, but I did find the ultra-matte formula a little hard to blend. A little goes a long way, as does prepping the skin with a good moisturizer.

This one was the most hydrating and easiest to apply. It felt so comfortable on my skin! A lot of people commented that this is the same formula as the old Olay Definity Color Recapture, so I did a side-by-side comparison. I absolutely prefer the new CC cream formula. The semi-matte finish also has a glow-from-within brightness. My only qualm is the minimal coverage.
