I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us

Someone really should keep an eye on me when I go to Sephora. It's darn near impossible for me to walk in and only buy what I stepped inside for -- or to spend less than $40 in a single trip. And, as is par for the course, the same thing happened when I went to the Sephora in the Meatpacking District this weekend. I needed a new bottle of nail polish remover. I wanted (and walked out with) two bottles of nail polish from the new Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Nail Glaze Collection.

I suppose I shouldn't really be surprised -- in fact, I should be commended, since I could have walked out with the entire collection. Truth be told, I'm pretty impressed with myself for only buying two colors! After much deliberation, I landed on Lola (a gorgeous, creamy tomato red) and Nirvana, which you can see above.

Nirvana is a deep, dark army green. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it. Two coats apply almost black at first glance (one is a bit streaky, I must admit). It dries to a high-shine, almost plastic-like finish that doesn't even need top coat to make it glossy (although I applied it anyway).

All I can think of while I stare repeatedly at my nails is Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit and the fact that the grunge trend is alive and well right now (and I'm kicking myself for not being able to find my grandpa's old flannels that I stole from him in the 90s). This is one of those colors that makes people actually stop me on the street to ask what nail polish I'm wearing -- it's that incredible.

And hey, if you want even more grunge inspiration, check out my post on how to style the glam grunge trend for the American Eagle Outfitters blog!

Marc Jacobs Enamored Nail Glaze retails for $18 each at sephora.com.

  1. It's refreshing to read that someone else is like me when it comes to Sephora! Except my situation is online so it's even more tempting now that I have rouge free shipping. I like those polishes very much. I've seen the Marc Jacobs collection and thought it looked nice. xx
