Salon and Spa Directory: Completely Polished Nail Salon

Since moving to Pittsburgh, I must admit it's been a bit of a challenge to find a great nail salon. Most are closed on Sundays (!!), which is the day I always reserved for my pedicures in NYC. In addition, they seem to be more on the walk-in side than the fancier end of the spectrum, and I really like to treat myself when it comes to my tips and toes. Enter Completely Polished Nail Salon.

Completely Polished just opened its doors in November -- and its owner, Jen, really has her nail game down pat. The pedicure stations are luxe, the tools are sanitized in a hospital grade autoclave before every use, and the staff is super friendly. Don't believe me? During my visit, I gabbed with Jen and my nail technician for two hours!

The selection of polish here is pretty amazing, from all the latest Zoya colors to gorgeous shades of gel that you can customize with multiple tubs of sparkly pigments. (I don't happen to be a fan of gel manicures, but that's definitely a big trend here in Pittsburgh.) And the services really can't be beat! I went for the Deep Moisture Manicure ($35) and Deep Moisture Pedicure ($50), since my winter-ravaged hands and feet were in DESPERATE need of hydration. In addition to all the fabulous steps that accompany the Completely Polished manicure and pedicure (trimming, shaping, buffing, cuticle care, lotion, massage and polish), these services include a divine hydrating mask and hot towel service. (Cue the "ahhhhs.")

Essie Belugaria. What do you think of this color?
I left with my hands and feet in tip-top shape and my nails polished to perfection. They were completely polished, as it were! I had actually brought my own polish -- Essie Belugaria, from the Encrusted Collection (seen above), since I wanted to try this black caviar polish and didn't want to deal with applying it myself!

And here's how you really know this nail salon is at the top of my Pittsburgh list. I drove from my home in Shadyside to Cranberry Township -- 24 miles! -- just to experience the magic here. Now that's dedication.
