#ManiMonday: Shimmer Polish in Mary

I recently started checking out different nail polish creators on Etsy. There's nothing wrong with OPI, Zoya, Essie and all the rest ... but I want to support the smaller indie brands, too! And so I discovered Shimmer Polish, a brand created by Cindy, where every color is named after (and inspired by) her friends or family members. As she says on her Etsy page, "This is my way of thanking them for being in my life." Who wouldn't want to support a brand like that, right?

So today, I'm wearing Shimmer Polish in Mary. I am normally not a huge fan of glitter polishes due to their lack of full, complete coverage -- I hate when, no matter how many coats you apply, you're still stuck with patchiness and weird glittery flakes. Not so with Mary, which -- as you can see from the photo above -- goes on evenly and opaquely in just two coats!

I love the raspberry hue, but this color is made so much more special by the silver and black hexagonal glitter flecks interspersed throughout. I will say you have to work pretty hard to get them out of the bottle and onto the nail ... but if you're willing to put in the time, the end result is pretty darned fantastic! This polish is definitely a sure stunner.
