Throwback Thursday: Pretending to Shave with My Dad

shaving, shaving cream, 1980s, 1980's, Throwback Thursday, #tbt, family, family time, fun
During a recent visit to my dad's house in Columbus, I was looking through some old photographs (honestly, mainly for upcoming Throwback Thursday posts). All of a sudden, I came across this complete GEM of a Polaroid of my dad and me, circa 1982. Here we are, both with shaving cream slathered all over our faces ... and I couldn't have been more excited if I tried.

Is there anything you've ever thought would be really fun to try? Something that you wouldn't be able to do for real, no matter what the circumstances? Well, when my dad used to shave, that's how I felt. I was always fascinated by the application of shaving cream to the cheeks and chin, and then the careful removal of it inch by inch with the razor blade. (And yes, I know shaving my legs is the same thing, but it's just always SEEMED different.)

So, as evidenced by this photo, my dad decided to let me have a little fun with the shaving cream. Who knew a little white foamy beard could make me so happy?

(Side note: I can't believe it, but my dad is younger in this photo than I am now. It's kind of blowing my mind.)

What's something you always wished you could do, but weren't able to? Or something you pretended to do as a kid? Let me know in the comments!
