#ManiMonday: R29 + Rescue Beauty Lounge Pretty Gritty

You know those nail polish colors that you see and immediately think, "THAT MUST BE MINE."? Well, that's how I felt the moment I saw Pretty Gritty, one of the colors from the new R29 + Rescue Beauty Lounge Collection.

This collection was created with the fashion and beauty teams from Refinery29. Pretty Gritty was my favorite of the collection from the moment I laid eyes on it (I picked another color from the collection as well, which you'll see in an upcoming #ManiMonday post!). And, of course, it was designed with the beauty team, who said of the shade, "Right now we're drawn to moody shades of purple (sorry radiant orchid, but we like our purple a bit more roughed up) warmed up with golden, bronzy undertones.”

I mean, seriously. LOOK AT THAT GORGEOUS COLOR. From the deep, dusky mauve purple base to the various sizes of gold and copper shimmers, this is a color that's a) begging to be bought and b) begging to be noticed. It's equal parts feminine and edgy, which means it's immediately become my new favorite polish.

True to form with all RBL polishes, the formula on this one is to die for. Two coats yield even, perfect color with tons of shine (although, as usual, I finished with a coat of Seche Vite). I just can't stop staring at my nails now that this color is on them.
