Cecilia is described as a classic teal. I would say that color description is pretty accurate, wouldn't you? This is one of those colors that stops you in your tracks and makes you say, "OOOOHHHH." (At least that's what happened to me.) I did experience mild staining with this one, so I would definitely make sure you use base coat.
Demetria is a vibrant poppy red. I found that this pulled a bit more orangey-pink on me, as you can see in the photo here. But depending on the light you'll definitely find the poppy color peeking through.
I can't help it -- every time I hear the word "poppy," I just think of the poppy field in The Wizard of Oz and the Wicked Witch saying "Poppppieeees." |
Jace is described by Zoya as a modern tropical green. I would classify this more as a pea green. And, while at first glance I actually thought this was the dark horse of the collection -- maybe because I really hated peas as a kid and only ate them when my mother made me -- it's growing on me. I'm not sure it necessarily fits into this collection of bright, summery colors, but I think it would be perfect in an array of shades for fall. It's not like anything else I have in my personal collection, so I think it's a keeper.
Nana is a deep fuchsia. This is definitely the most typical color for summer -- every collection always has at least one pink, does it not? -- but it's still something special. It has a richness and deepness that's missing in other fuchsias.
Serenity is a purple that hovers somewhere between violet and grape. In other words, it's absolute perfection. As soon as I opened up these nail polishes, I knew I'd be using one of them as my current manicure -- and, while it was a tough decision, Serenity won. (I've now been sporting it for four days and haven't even experienced any tip wear!) I'm a sucker for a good purple, and Serenity delivers in spades.
Talia is described as a true turquoise. Honestly, Talia and Cecilia are very similar. Talia leans a bit more blue than Cecilia does, but they're close enough in hue that you could get away with only buying one. (Although, seriously, why would you?) Talia has a bit more blue to it than Cecilia does, which leans a bit more green.
All six of these colors are highly pigmented and covered perfectly in one coat, though I used two for good measure. They were all incredibly glossy and creamy even without top coat.
The Zoya Island Fun Collection retails for $54 at zoya.com. You can also purchase each nail polish individually for $9.
