I'm about to tell you something shocking. Before today, I hadn't painted my nails in two weeks. I. KNOW. I'm honestly not sure what was happening -- it's not like I didn't have the time, it's not like I didn't have the polishes, it's not even like I didn't have the desire. But for some reason, I just didn't have the drive to actually sit down and paint. Well, that definitely changed today -- and the result is this manicure, featuring Smith & Cult Fauntleroy and Deborah Lippmann Glitter And Be Gay.

Flanked by the two polishes I used this week. I love the color combination!

Both of these nail polishes are colors that I had lemminged over for quite some time. They were those colors that I looked at, I salivated over, I basically coveted -- and then, finally, I bit the bullet and bought them. And, much as I am wont to do with many of the polishes in my stash, I let them sit and collect dust for awhile until I finally decided to pull these gorgeous colors out and actually USE them.

Smith & Cult Fauntleroy is such a beautiful pinkish lavender creme.

I purchased Smith & Cult Fauntleroy at the same time as another gorgeous color by this brand, Bitter Buddhist. This is one of those shades that just makes me happy when I look at it. It's described as an opaque muted lavender, which is pretty much right on the money -- but I see some pink undertones as well. Two thin coats yield even, perfect color with no streaking or smudging. I really love the bottle, too -- it's HUGE, which you would think might be unwieldy, especially with the large round cap (and, yes, it's supposed to be dented -- that's part of the brand signature). But somehow, the shape just works. It's not too big, it's not too small, it's just right. And I have to admit I love the way it looks sitting amongst my collection.

Deborah Lippmann Glitter And Be Gay just begs to be noticed with tons of glittery, holographic sparkle.

Deborah Lippmann Glitter And Be Gay. Well, isn't this just a color that screams out to be noticed! This color was originally from the Jewel Heist Collection back in 2013. Multidimensional, holographic gold and navy glitters in a clear base just make such a gorgeous, sparkly statement. I decided to paint one nail with this stunner just to jazz up my manicure a bit. I only used one coat, so you can still see Fauntleroy through it. This is definitely the kind of polish that I only like to use as an accent, rather than as a full-on manicure -- I just don't love glitters that you have to build too much. But come on, is it the best topper ever or what?

This manicure has definitely brought my nails back to life! I'm so glad I finally have color on them again -- and this is a manicure that will have me staring at my nails nonstop for the next few days.
