Whenever I travel to a busy city, I want to have a home base that feels secluded and private, even in the midst of the hustle and bustle. That's the exact case with Pendry Chicago, which I love so much, I've stayed there twice in the past two years.
Of all the hotels I've stayed at in recent years, Pendry Chicago is among the best. I'm impressed with the service, rooms, and amenities in equal measure.
About Pendry Chicago
The hotel is located in the storied 1929 Carbide and Carbon Building, right on the Magnificent Mile. The art deco structure is reminiscent of a vintage green champagne bottle, which is especially noticeable when you stand further away from the building or see it amongst the Chicago skyline. Throughout the space, you'll find opulent touches like gold accents, overstuffed velvet settees, and dark wood paneling.
Why I Love Staying at Pendry Chicago
So nice, I stayed there twice! Pendry Chicago has become one of my repeat-visit hotels in Chicago for a number of reasons.

Location, Location, Location
The hotel's location truly can't be beat. It's on the Magnificent Mile, a stone's throw from landmarks like The Art Institute of Chicago and Cloud Gate. It's also very close to a Garrett Popcorn shop, which of course I love! The area is very walkable, with no shortage of restaurants, bars, and shops. It's also very close to the iconic River Walk.
Incredible Hotel Rooms
Every room at this hotel is utter perfection — and I should know, since I've stayed in both the King room and the King corner suite. I especially love the corner suites because they're more removed from the action and are super quiet. They're also unbelievably large, and appointed with a variety of amenities like yoga mats, plush robes, and workout machines.

The beds are unbelievably comfortable. I sank right in and fell asleep immediately every night. The glassed-in shower is decked out with products from MiN New York, which all smell divine.

Impeccable Service
Everyone who works at Pendry Chicago is absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful. The people at check-in are beyond accommodating, even providing umbrellas on an extremely rainy day.
Multiple Restaurant and Bar Options
The Pendry has three different bars and restaurants to choose from. Venteux is a French brasserie with cozy velvet banquettes and dim, moody lighting. Chateau Carbide is a speakeasy-themed rooftop bar. Bar Pendry is the lobby bar, accented with heavy drapery and a double-sided fireplace.
I met friends for drinks in Bar Pendry and was very impressed with it as a lobby bar. Wonderful service, delicious drinks, lovely vibe. Honestly, what's not to love?
