Direct from the Runway: Terexov

And I thought I was in love with fashion week just after seeing BCBG. Who knew it could get even better? But better it was today at the Spring 2008 Terexov show. (And no, it's not because noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker was sitting directly across from this beauty chick ... and it's not because I was front row either! Though of course those two coups didn't hurt.)

No, it was because Terexov may very well have become my new favorite designer after his collection of ruffled and tiered dresses and flowing tunics in luminous silk charmeuse, floaty cashmere and lightweight cottons, all designed in the most gorgeous shades of mauve, dove gray and pearl.

But enough salivating over the clothes (which I will be snapping up as soon as they hit stores), I was there to see the beauty. And beautiful this show was from head-to-toe! Hair by Juan Carlos Maciques of the Rita Hazan Salon echoed the gracefulness of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's with locks pulled back into tight buns, not a stray wisp to be found anywhere. Lyne Desnoyers of M.A.C Cosmetics followed suit, with rose-shadowed lids, lengthy lashes swiped with black mascara, subtly rouged cheeks and lips of the palest coral.

A 10? I only wish I could give an 11. Well done, Alexander Terekhov, well done.
