Must-Have Mondays: Ojon Tawaka The White Ball

Ojon, Ojon Tawaka The White Ball, The White Ball, Ojon The White Ball, Ojon Tawaka, exfoliate, exfoliator, moisturize, moisturizer, scrub, bath and body
I'm somewhat of a scrub junkie ... so of course I need to try out every single one that comes my way. And the new Tawaka The White Ball by Ojon totally satisfied my latest scrub curiosity. I was fortunate enough to check out this baseball-sized genius scrub at Sephora's holiday editors' event last month, and I've been hooked ever since! (The picture at left is from the event.) Designed exclusively for Sephora's holiday collection -- which means it's not available just yet -- this companion to the original, simply monikered "The Ball," is bound to sell out quickly.

A combination of delicious ingredients make up this ball, whose inclusion of white cocoa seed butter turns the ball snow white instead of its companion's deep chocolate brown. This butter is rich in essential lipids, Vitamin E and both oleic and palmitic acids, which moisturizes and softens skin to no end. Also abounding are guarana extract, which stimulates the skin through massage; Ojon and SWA+ oils, which are rich in amino and essential fatty acids to condition and purify dry skin; and passiflora oil, which contains Vitamins A and E to nourish ravaged skin.

Now, a word to the wise ... the ball can feel a bit unwieldy. The size of a baseball, it can be quite tough to hold in the shower -- especially when it's soaking wet! But once you have a good grip on it, and begin rubbing it over dry areas like knees and elbows, you'll see a vast difference in skin texture almost immediately. After using it once or twice a week throughout the last few weeks, my skin has improved beautifully! Plus, there's no greasy residue left behind, meaning my body isn't slick or slimy to the touch like it is after using some scrubs. Best of all, the ball comes with its very own wooden bowl that it can rest in when not in use!

The White Ball will be available during the holiday season and will retail for $65. It was created exclusively for Sephora, and will be available in stores and on Sephora.com.

  1. Does the white ball smell as bad as the original?

  2. The White Ball doesn't smell bad at all. It has a very fresh, clean scent -- not cloying or overpowering.

  3. I love scrubs too. So gotta try it out. I never feel clean if I don't use a scrub

  4. Wow, I've never even heard of this before. I've gotta give it a try! I wonder if guarana extract is really absorbed through the skin. Doesn't guarana have caffeine in it?

  5. beauty tyrant -- I totally agree!

Karen -- It does have caffeine in it. This would definitely help to make skin keep from getting inflamed and can even protect against sun damage!

  6. So how does it compare to the original brown Ojon Tawaka ball?? I'm curious for someone to compare the two and let me know which one they like best
