I had drinks with the lovely PR team of Elizabeth Arden last evening, and after much discussion of the newly packaged Eight Hour Cream, I decided it was imperative that I tell you all about it! The Eight Hour Cream 1950s Vintage Set takes the original two bestsellers -- around since, you guessed it, the 1950s -- and turns it into your old favorites in totally chic and glamorous packaging.
This limited-edition set turns the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant and Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15 into something truly special. Each of these products moisturizes, smooths, soothes, conditions, nourishes ... get the picture?
The Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant is one of those products that, at first look, doesn't really seem like it will be everything the packaging promises. The tub is adorable, but when you open it up, you're faced with an almost jelly-like consistency that just doesn't seem like it will make your skin as soft as silk. But ingredients like Vitamin E and petrolatum really make this moisturizer something special. You need only the tiniest bit -- I'm talking only a dime-sized amount -- and it sinks in almost instantly, leaving behind a smooth sheen and unbelievably soft skin.
And the Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15? The longest name in the world aside, this baby really and truly delivers. Not only does it keep my pout from feeling chapped, red and raw, but it has SPF in it to protect against those harmful UV rays! It's found its way into permanent residence inside my purse, since any self-respecting beauty chick just needs a happy, shiny pout at all times.
Unfortunately, this product is no longer available.
Love the vintage spin on the packaging.
ReplyDeleteJust a comment about the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, Intensive Moisturizing Hand Treatment. It acts as an appetite suppressent for me. Something about the scent helps me fight off my hunger. It's amazing. I will never let myself run out of this product!
