Refresh Those Tired Eyes: Talika Eye Decompress

Jetlag seriously took its toll on my skin. My unsightly pallor was altogether frightening when I got back from Israel -- though the worst part was the dark circles and bags that seemed to have permanently taken up residence underneath my eyes. Luckily, I had Talika Eye Decompress sitting in my beauty stash -- so the first thing I did was whip one out and see if it would do the trick.

Putting the mask together felt a bit like a chemistry experiment. The silver package contains two deep holes, one with a miniature white pastille and one with swirly turquoise liquid. Simply open the package, drop the pastille into the liquid and watch as it immediately swells up into an eye mask! All you need to do is unfurl the mask (which is quite simple) and place it upon your eyes for 5 to 10 minutes.

Immediately, my skin began to feel cooled and refreshed. As I sat with the papery thin mask stretched across my eyes, rose extract gave off a delightfully fresh aroma that calmed, soothed and rejuvenated my senses. After only 5 minutes, I removed the mask to discover that the bags were gone. We're talking completely recessed! And while my dark circles hadn't faded completely, they were definitely much lighter in color, leading me to believe that leaving it on for longer or applying again for a few days would make them disappear altogether.

Talika Eye Decompress is $30 for 9 treatments at beauty.com.
