Beauty Question: Do You Apply Sunscreen Every Day?

Clinique, Clinique Sun, Clinique Sun with SolarSmart, skin, skincare, skin care, sunscreenEvery facialist will tell you it's a necessity. Your dermatologist will probably yell at you if you admit to skipping it. And now I'm asking you -- do you apply sunscreen every day? This beauty chick sure tries, but I'm the first to admit I miss a day here and there. Sometimes I'm running late, sometimes I'm just lazy. But I do know it's the right thing to do, even on grey days where it seems frivolous and ridiculous to do so.

So what are your sunscreen habits? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I always wear moisturizer or makeup with spf every day, but sometimes I have put it on in the morning and I walk the dog in the late afternoon and do not reapply. I think the spf is probably negative at that point. But what a pain to have to wash my face and reapply sunscreen before walking the dog! I do usually wear a hat or baseball cap at least.

A co-worker is in the midst of just being diagnosed with a carcinoma on his ear. It was just a small spot on his ear but it has travelled inside his head and has surrounded his facial nerve. He may lose his ear and part of his face. This has been a wake-up call for all of us to also use sunscreen on our ears. You may religiously put it on your face and forget all about your ears, and often this is where these cancers show up. And your scalp. I found a hairspray that has spf and use it although not religiously.

It is very serious. Although I saw one non-professional opinion (a nutritionist) who thinks the sunscreen itself contributes to skin cancer because it's full of icky chemicals. So there you go. Then you've got the recent hype about Vitamin D and how important it is and you should get 10-15 min. of sun every day! It's hard to figure out what's right....

Well I'm sure I've told you waaayyy more than you wanted to know at this point.
