12 Days of Favorite Nail Colors from Jamie and Katie: Deborah Lippmann Believe & Essie Sew Psyched

Some people's beauty obsessions are obvious early in life. For my best friend, Katie Reed, and me, it was definitely nail polish. We've been in love with cool, bold colors since the early 90's -- we used to trade them back and forth while sitting in our high school hallways before class. For the next 12 days, we'll be bringing you some of our favorites in what we're calling 12 Days of Favorite Nail Colors.

Jamie: My color today is Deborah Lippmann Believe. From the very first moment I laid eyes upon this color, I was in love. I have MANY golds and silvers in my collection, but what makes this color unique is that it's a melding of both gold and silver! I love how glittery and shiny it is, but at the same time, it feels almost like a nude -- just a bit more dressed up and flashy. It's one of those colors that garners compliments from everyone around you, too. Oh, and did I mention that Deb created it with the one and only Cher during one of her tours? If anyone knows how to be flashy, it's Cher.

Katie: My color today is Essie Sew Psyched. Originally from the Fall 2010 collection, this nail polish is sort of like the color of the forest before a big summer storm. It's a greyish-green that falls under the so ugly it's pretty category. Though I would classify this as a cream, it does have the tiniest bit of silver shimmer. It's shown here with two coats. It dries very fast, so it's important to be quick with the coverage.
Essie Sew Psyched retails for $8 at beauty.com.
