12 Days of Favorite Nail Colors from Jamie and Katie: butter LONDON All Hail The Queen & OPI Warm & Fozzie

Some people's beauty obsessions are obvious early in life. For my best friend, Katie Reed, and me, it was definitely nail polish. We've been in love with cool, bold colors since the early 90's -- we used to trade them back and forth while sitting in our high school hallways before class. For the next 12 days, we'll be bringing you some of our favorites in what we're calling 12 Days of Favorite Nail Colors.

Jamie: My color today is butter LONDON All Hail The Queen. You know those nail polishes that just grab you and reel you in the second you see them? Well, that's how this one was for me. This was actually originally named All Hail McQueen, and was named for Alexander McQueen. I'm not sure when or why the name was changed to reflect British royalty, but it was. In any case, the color is stunning. The taupe base is liberally packed with rainbow-colored holographic glitter that just shimmers and shines whether you're in the dark or the light. The formula is simply perfect -- the polish just glides onto the nail and applies completely opaque in two coats.
butter LONDON All Hail The Queen retails for $14 at beauty.com.

Katie: My color today is OPI Warm & Fozzie. This polish was part of the OPI Muppets Collection from 2011. I'm a huge thing of everything Muppets, from the original show that was on in my childhood, to the Christmas album with John Denver, and the movies -- both old and new. Let's just say, if I had to pick between Kermit and most mortal men ... well, that green frog would win every time. Warm & Fozzie is shown here with two coats, and wears well, as do most glitters. The coverage was great! If you don't mind a little bling, Warm & Fozzie is a fantastic fall shade. It's a brown foil glitter, through and through, but if you dig deeper, you will see glitter particles in pink, bronze, taupe, red and green. How on earth did the polish gods get all of that into this unassuming shade without it being a total wreck? Let's just call it a little Muppet magic!
Unfortunately, Warm & Fozzie is no longer available, as it was part of a limited edition collection. But who knows -- you might be able to find it at a beauty supply store or eBay!
