1) Zipping it into your jacket.
This is honestly not something I ever knew could happen. But I have zipped my hair into my jacket more times than I can even count this past winter! And I'm here to tell you, it HURTS.
2) How much easier it is to clog the shower drain.
Regardless of how long my hair is, there's a LOT of it (I was "blessed" with super thick, coarse hair with multiple strands growing out of every follicle) -- so I'm quite familiar with how quickly the shower drain becomes clogged. But now that I have double or even triple the amount of hair, WOW. That drain sure gets clogged a lot more frequently.
Dipping hair in food? That's the worst. |
Finding salad dressing on it is bad enough. But the day I discovered syrup stuck to my strands was a whole different matter. That stuff is like gum -- the only way to get it out of your hair is to cut it. Yikes.
4) How many more products you have to use.
Shampoo. Conditioner. Deep conditioner. Leave-in conditioner. Shine serum. Blowdryer. Flat iron. The list goes on and on! I love having long hair, but washing it and making it look good are a huge pain in the neck.
5) The heaviness it creates on your neck after a couple days of not washing.
Days 1 and 2 of a new blowout? Bouncy, airy and light. Days 3-5? My hair starts to feel so heavy, it's like someone put a bowling ball on my neck and left it there all day. I find myself wearing a lot more ponytails than in the past!
So much hair I don't know what to do with it all! |
Speaking of ponytails ... how about those times you forget your ponytail holder and then you have to leave it down no matter what? And, of course, those are the times you're at a concert or a dance club or an event that's hot and sticky, and then you overheat. Definitely not fun.
Do you have long hair? Do you relate to these problems, or do you have some others you want to add to the list? Let me know in the comments!
