I was seriously fascinated with the ability to create my very own personalized fragrance. My friends and I would spend HOURS at the perfume bar, trying, testing and smelling every single perfume oil before settling on the ones that would make it into our new signature scents. (And, yes, we each had multiples.) My favorites always seemed to center around vanilla or peach (still two of my very favorite scents to this day), and trying to figure out what to put with them was the highlight of my most recent mall trip.
My friends and I would repeatedly move from scent to scent, sniffing to our hearts' content. From jasmine and the always loved dewberry to white musk and amber, we just couldn't get enough! Plus, there was just something so special about having the ability to create something that no one else would have. Even if I never actually WORE the fragrances, they were custom blended just for ME.
Sadly, I've lost the bottles over the years. But I still remember the small globe shapes and the heavily concentrated fragrances that lay within. To be honest, the perfume bar is probably why I have a tough time picking and sticking with a signature scent today!
Do you remember the Custom Perfume Bar from The Body Shop? Did you ever create your own fragrances there? Let me know in the comments!
