This photo was taken in my grandparents' basement. Here's a rundown of the awesome 90's trends I was rocking here:
1) Banana clip (worn to the side of course)
2) A No Excuses heart-shaped pin (clipped onto my very oversized white T-shirt)
3) Stacked bracelets, including not one but TWO slap bracelets (that red one, if you look very closely, was emblazoned with black polka dots and was my very favorite accessory of 1991)
4) A mood ring
5) Subtly crested bangs
6) A messy bob
I mean, WOW. There's just so much happening in this photo that it's hard to know where to begin. Honestly, I feel like this look somehow works. Not that I would recreate it these days, but I don't think it's SO out there that I look completely ridiculous. Lots of trends in one look? Maybe. But that was the style back then, and I went for it wholeheartedly.
