When I was 4 years old, I started doing theater. My first role was as the Youngest Royal Child in The King And I. (You can read all about how this started my love of beauty here.) Well, while my love of beauty may have begun at this time, my annoyance at having to remove makeup went hand in hand. (Okay, my mom's annoyance, since I was only 4 years old, but still.) The only product we could really find to take off every stitch of pancake makeup and liquid eyeliner was Pond's Cold Cream.
I mean, seriously ... look at how much makeup I was wearing in The King And I!

As a result, I've sworn by the stuff for years. The thick, fluffy white cream is seriously soothing as it hits the skin, while the whipped texture and cooling effect leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. The slight medicinal-esque aroma isn't necessarily fabulous, but at the same time there's something quite calming about it. And the fact that the cream is hypoallergenic only makes me love it more ... my face never breaks out from using it, and I just feel happy smoothing it on.
I'm going on 30 years using Pond's Cold Cream (!!) ... and at this point, I honestly don't think I could even imagine my life without it.
Pond's Cold Cream retails for $7 at drugstore.com.
My mom used this and every time I smell it, it brings back memories for me. Glad to hear that it works well for you!
ReplyDeleteIt does have such a unique smell, right? I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but I love it anyway!
DeleteI've never tried this, but I might have to for those stubborn mascaras!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to let me know what you think! I honestly think nothing is better.
DeleteI always keep Ponds Cold Cream on hand and people think I'm crazy! They are like "You know there is better stuff out there, right?" Pfft. Nope!
