2 Fabulous Shampoos for Color-Treated Hair (Hint: They're by Klorane and Phyto)

color-treated hair, shampoo for color-treated hair, Klorane Shampoo with Pomegranate, Phyto PHYTONECTAR Ultra Nourishing Brilliance Shampoo, color safe shampoo
I have officially become one of those girls who doesn't remember what her natural hair color is. Okay, I DO, but I certainly don't remember seeing it on my head for the last 7 or 8 years. As such, I've come to learn that when it comes to color-treated hair, some shampoos are better than others. I've made a study of pretty much every color-safe shampoo on the market, and these two by Klorane and Phyto are among the very best.

Klorane Shampoo with Pomegranate
You know those shampoos that smell fantastic but don't actually do a great job of cleaning your hair? Well, this isn't one of them. Not only is the scent wafting out of the bottle fresh and feminine, but this shampoo works to cleanse every single strand while maintaining the clarity of your color. Plus, who doesn't want to use a pink shampoo once in awhile? I've found that this one is perfect for really working to clarify the tresses and draw out buildup.

Phyto PHYTONECTAR Ultra Nourishing Brilliance Shampoo
If you're looking for a rich shampoo that feels like butter in your hands, this is it. The formula is thick and supremely nourishing with a blend of fragrant orange blossom wax, soybean proteins, witch hazel and St. John's Wort extract. My hair tends to be a little dehydrated, and it perks right back up after a couple minutes with this shampoo.

With both of these products, I've found that I need to shampoo twice to thoroughly cleanse my hair. This is probably partly due to the fact that I only wash 1-2 times per week, but they do take a bit of effort to work into a full lather.

Have you tried either of these shampoos? Or is there another one your color-treated hair can't live without? Let me know in the comments!

  6. These are a nice in-between price: not hair salon expensive, but not scary drugstore cheap. I won't be dying my hair again for a while, but might revisit these when I decide to again!
