The Beauty of Life: #ManiMonday: The Paintbox Ice Queen Manicure

Over the weekend, my best friend Katie and I took a girls trip to NYC. And, while we've had plenty of those over the years, this one was more special than most -- because we were celebrating our 35th birthdays! (Hers was on the 14th, mine is this coming Saturday, the 31st.) Katie and I have always loved nail polish (you can see the proof in our 12 Days of Favorite Nail Colors Series), so we decided to treat ourselves to a bunch of beauty treatments. And at the top of our list? A trip to Paintbox.

Now, you may remember that I went to Paintbox when I was in the city back in September. I was completely obsessed with my Hot Shot Manicure, and simply couldn't wait to try other fabulous nail art from the salon menu. The Ice Queen really called to me this time (and, if I'm being honest, I almost got it during my last visit!).

While you can choose any colors you want from the salon's stash for your manicure, I really loved the way it looked in the menu book. The sparkle against the nude just really called to me. So my manicurist, the super talented Gracie, pulled out Essie Back In The Limo and Essie Summit Of Style to create the nude manicure with glitter ombre tips.

As you may expect, I am totally in love with this manicure! It's the perfect blend of understated, sophisticated and over the top glam. I especially loved this manicure with the dress I wore to my birthday party in the city on Saturday night...

I am completely obsessed with this dress -- the Free People Sequined Tunic. It was absolutely perfect for celebrating such a special birthday.
