Throwback Thursday: Rocking the Yarn Ribbon Headband

#TBT, Throwback Thursday, #ThrowbackThursday, headband, yarn ribbon headband, 1980s, fashion, style
I sure loved wearing yarn as hair ribbons back when I was a kid. In the late 80s, I had yarn in every color that my mom would tie into a big bow on top of my head!

For example, just look at the photo above. On the particular day in question (which was back in 1988, I believe), I was wearing one of my favorite dresses -- this navy minidress with sash belt (that I'm pretty sure was supposed to tie in the back, but I wanted to be different and tie it in the front). I obviously had to pair it with a yarn ribbon headband in navy to match.

I really never even saw other people wearing yarn as hair ribbons, so I don't know where the idea came from. But it's one that stuck around for quite some time!

And, yes, my hair was rather big. But I sure am loving my blunt bangs!

  6. Too cute! I was always a headband kid, but I don't think I ever had yarn ones.
