Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
I'm a wife, mommy, author and beauty blogger. I'm a first generation Indian-American. I've always been interested in writing and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Texas. I published a novel (Half-Full, found on Amazon and Barnes and Noble website). I started writing in college in 2011, and from there, I realized my passion in writing, and started doing it full time!
How did you first become interested in beauty, and what led you to create your own blog?
During my pregnancy with my son, I used to be really into nail polish and browsed all sorts of swatches and nail blogs, and then when my son was 4 months old, I decided to start my own blog because I had trouble finding swatches in my skin tone, and it just developed from there and branched out along with my interests, for example, lipsticks. (Namely, liquid lipsticks.)
I love the name of your blog! How did you come up with it?
My blog used to be about childhood and being a newlywed and then food before I converted it into what it is today. Taneja's Bride came from me being a new Missus to my Mr. Taneja, and Mrs. Taneja didn't sound so great as a blog name, so I turned it into Taneja's Bride.
What are your top 5 favorite beauty products?
Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Hazel. My top favorite of the moment because all foundations and CC creams I've used in summer broke me out, and this one has been really great for me, so far!
M.A.C Vintage Grape Blush. Limited edition, boo! Really flattering year round.
Foreo LUNA. It really gives my skin life! It exfoliates and leaves my skin BABY soft!
ColourPop Highlighters in Avalon and Sticky Sweet. They are affordable AND pigmented, and it makes my strobing glow, baby, glow!
Candy Cane ChapStick. It's the only ChapStick that gives me the promised moisturized lips and has a great scent and feel, too!
What are your top 3 beauty tips?
1) Prime your skin with sunscreen before you apply foundation or any face products so that your skin can be protected to its fullest.
2) Drink lots of water because it will show in your face and body.
3) Don't wash your hair every day if you want to keep it healthy -- it needs its natural oils!
Being a blogger must be fun, but what do you do in your spare time?
My spare time? I have none. But, really, I am a stay-at-home mommy, and try to keep my 3 1/2 year old son involved in activities in the house and out. If I do have time to myself, I will read, shop or watch movies. My current favorite TV show is Game of Thrones. Sad the current season is over. In the meantime, I will just catch up on reading.
In addition to your blog, how can The Beauty of Life readers find you on social media?
You can find me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
