Thinning Hair? No Worries.

Thinning hair. It's not just men who experience it. Unfortunately, up to 42 percent of women will notice some hair loss in their lifetime as well (with 76 percent noticing after the age of 30). Luckily, Women's ROGAINE® is an effective treatment for hereditary hair loss and can be used at the start of hair thinning as part of a proactive anti-aging regimen.

Here are some interesting facts about hair loss and about Women's ROGAINE® for you:

Contrary to common belief, the leading cause of hair loss among women is genetics or Hereditary Female Pattern Baldness (in 90 percent of cases) and not stress. Hereditary hair loss can come from either the mother or father’s side of the family.

Left untreated, hair thinning can worsen over time. Women can lose one-sixth of their hair density in a period of 10 years.

With over 25 years of results and numerous clinical trials, the Women's ROGAINE® brand is the #1 dermatologist and #1 stylist-recommended brand for hair regrowth.

Women’s ROGAINE® 5% Minoxidil Topical Aerosol is the first and only FDA-approved once daily treatment that can be used morning or night.

Unlike cosmetic thickeners which just coat hair and temporarily mask the issue, Women’s ROGAINE® 5% MinoxidilTopical Aerosol helps prevent further thinning by regrowing fuller, thicker hair.

If applied directly to the scalp once a day, every day, most women will start regrowing fuller, thicker hair in as little as 12 weeks. New hairs come in up to 48 percent thicker than before based on mean hair strand diameter.

Women’s ROGAINE® 5% Minoxidil Topical Aerosol is the first and only FDA-approved, once daily application hair regrowth product exclusively for women experiencing hereditary hair loss.

I also had the opportunity to interview celebrity hairstylist and spokesperson for Women's ROGAINE®, Jill Crosby, who provided some additional info and styling tips for women with thinning hair...

What are some of the causes for thinning hair or hair loss in women?
There are unfortunately many causes of thinning hair. But one out of every three women will notice hereditary hair loss in her lifetime, which is statistically very high.

What can women do to prevent thinning hair or hair loss?
I always say to take an inventory of your life and what is happening in your environment to assess and see if there are obvious factors contributing to why you may be losing hair, i.e. heightened stress levels, hazardous chemical exposure, change in diet. Check in with yourself and talk to a doctor to get help.

What are some ways women can style their hair when they are experiencing thinning hair or hair loss?
I have a few go-tos, but since every woman is so different and her needs and styles vary greatly from each other, I believe working with a stylist is a great way to determine what will look good and work well for each individual. You can also visit us at WomensRogaine.com because we have videos and how tos there to help show you some tricks.

To maintain the look of clean, healthy hair, use only the recommended dose. Apply once per day (morning or night) onto a non-porous surface, part your hair to maximize scalp exposure and massage it into the scalp. Then allow it to dry. If you are experiencing thinning hair or hair loss, I encourage you to try Women's ROGAINE® as part of your preventative treatment. Learn more here.
