On Wednesdays We Wear Pink: beautyblender Blotterazzi

beautyblender, beautyblender Blotterazzi, blotting papers, blotting linens, skin, skincare, skin care, face blotting
I'm obsessed with blotting linens. There's something oddly satisfying about watching all the grease and grime come off your face in just a few small dabs, isn't there? So when the beautyblender Blotterazi showed up in my PLAY! by Sephora box last month, I was immediately intrigued.

This teardrop-shaped sponge promises to absorb and remove excess oil without disturbing makeup. It's an alternative to the blotting papers we all carry around in our purses, and since it's washable, it's definitely easier to use than those pesky papers you need to dispose of afterward. But I'm sure the question on your mind is, does it WORK?

Well, I'm here to tell you that the answer to that question is a resounding YES. I waited until I was pretty darn shiny to test this little bright pink baby out. It's been relatively warm in LA this week, so a few minutes sitting in my apartment without air conditioning definitely brought out the sweat and shine on my face! Some precise blots with this cushioned sponge and my skin was back in business -- dry, fresh and still somehow dewy without looking like I'd been doused in water.

The Blotterazzi typically comes in a package of two sponges that are contained in a chic silver compact. For my PLAY! box, I only received one, but now I definitely want to purchase more!

Best of all, it didn't even feel soggy after use -- the oil was absorbed effortlessly with the sponge still feeling good as new. And if that's not a miracle, I really don't know what is!

The beautyblender Blotterazzi retails for $20 at sephora.com.

  2. Mine is cooling it's heels in a drawer. I don't need to blot, often (okay, rarely... #driedoutoldhag) so I'm trying to find a good use for it.

  3. I got this last month too, but I haven't tried it yet. My skin is dry except on super hot days and then I need to remove sweat not oil. I am not sure that I believe that it won't remove my foundation if I try blotting with it. Were you wearing makeup when you used it?

  4. You make me sorry that I gave mine to my blog partner. She blots constantly. I wonder if she'll review this.

  5. I've heard mixed reviews on this. I don't have oily skin, so I have no use for it, but glad to hear you like it!

  7. This is such a neat invention! I don't have to blot very often (thanks to dry skin) but I would try in warmer weather.
