Now, I'm like any beauty junkie out there. I'd heard about what a game changer micellar water was. And it's not that I didn't want to try it, but it just never seemed like a priority ... and, if I'm being completely honest, I figured it HAD to be over hyped. There was just no way a product could really be THAT incredible. Unfortunately, in this case, I was completely incorrect -- because, yes, MICELLAR WATER IS THE FREAKING BOMB.
Since I'm pretty late to the micellar water game, I assume most people already know what it does. But in case you're like me and have been holding out, micellar water is made up of micelle cleansing molecules that pull oil and dirt away from the face. This all-in-1 cleanser takes off all makeup and fully cleanses the face without leaving it feeling dry or stripped of moisture.
And the best part? No rinsing! You just pour a little of the micellar cleansing water onto a cotton pad, swipe it across your face, and voila! Your skin is clean and clear.
I really put this Garnier micellar water to the test on Halloween, when I went as Minnie Mouse. My friend Claire drew Minnie's nose and whiskers on my face with a non-waterproof liquid eyeliner, so I definitely wanted to see whether this cleansing water would actually take off every stitch of makeup. I'm just going to share this short video I took (originally for my Snapchat, but converted to YouTube) so you can see whether it worked...
As you can see, it removed EVERY OUNCE OF MAKEUP from my face! I was shocked and delighted at just how well this product works. It also made my skin feel super soft and smooth with no oily residue left behind.
I am now majorly on the micellar water train. I just can't believe it took this long to buy a ticket and take the ride!
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water retails for $7 at walmart.com.
Micellar water never seems to remove all my makeup when I go all out, but I do really like it for the days I wear minimal to no makeup, and it is my go to for first thing in the morning when I don't really need a thorough face wash.
ReplyDeleteI am a total Micellar water junkie!!!!! I haven't tried this one yet, but will definitely add it to my list!
ReplyDeleteI love micellar water. I have both versions of the Garnier and it's such good stuff. I've thought about buying Bioderma but why spend the extra moolah when the Garnier works so well?
ReplyDeleteI still haven't bought this one because I had stocked up on Simple but I will try it one of these days. I'm a big fan of micellar water and use it at least once a day. Welcome to the club.
ReplyDeleteI've heard such great things about this, I really need to pick one up!
ReplyDeleteI like micellar water. I have this too
ReplyDeleteI had no luck with micellar water so far, I've tried at least 10 different brands and it just doesn't remove all the makeup I wear, esp. mascara. *sighs*
ReplyDeleteI have heard a lot about this brand and this product, but i haven't used it. I'm not a person that wear any make-up, i do wear all sort of lippie products, but that it and i have received Cetaphil that i use and i still have some other facial products. I will first use all of those before i will consider Garnier. I don't blame for for not washing your face if you take good care of it and drink lots of water, you don't need all those extra stuff.
ReplyDeleteI NEED to try this one! I've used the pink capped version (and really liked it), but it doesn't remover waterprooof formulas.
ReplyDeleteI want to try this! I'm still working through a bottle of the Simple micellar water, which I don't love.
ReplyDeleteI love this Micellar water! But i want to know how you get by not washing your face?? What do you do to clean it?
